About the Project
The Creative Beginnings Pilot is a citywide initiative developed in partnership with Austin ISD and United Way to ensure every Pre-K learner has access to an arts-vibrant education. By weaving Music, Dance, Theatre, and Visual Arts directly into curriculum, this project nurtures the whole child by supporting age-based physical development, pre-literacy, literacy, language development, social-emotional awareness, and content comprehension. Through arts curriculum extensions, professional learning for teachers and assistants, and increased access to community arts experiences, we are collaborating to transform Austin's early learning classrooms into thriving creative ecosystems.
Vision Statement
Using the transformative power of the arts, we will increase capacity by equipping educators, families, and community partners with sustainable tools that ensure equity, joy, and creativity for all early learners. We are committed to advancing kindergarten readiness by closing opportunity gaps, honoring cultural diversity, and building a lasting model of early learning where the arts are an essential, not optional, aspect of learning.
