Porch Swing Orchestra is a project by Austin-based artist Barry Stone that forms connections between images and sounds. Often in collaboration with others, Stone makes field recordings of improvised acoustic guitar compositions in tune with his surroundings and photographs of the site where the recordings are made. He presents the resulting audio and photography together after altering the digital code of the image to create chance-operated glitches and color shifts.

Barry Stone is a Professor of Photography at Texas State University, contributing to the academic community while continuing to exhibit his work nationally and internationally.
